Suzanne Ferris has been a nature lover since early childhood. Her concern that the exploitative behaviour of humans threatens the sustainability of our planet has led her to become an active climate defender. Now almost blind, Sue is channelling her activism into writing. Her academic studies have been in literature and philosophy, though she has read widely in environmental and conservation fields. In 2023, Sue published 'Let's Not Lose Them: Endangered Species in Australia', with Ginninderra Press. Sue's second book, 'Thoughts for an Uncertain Future' sounds a note of hope. It is a motivational plea for people to become actively engaged, reconnecting with nature and cutting back on wasteful consumerism, by joining with like-minded, proactive communities. It exemplifies how empowering and exhilarating this can be.
