Lizards have lived on Earth for millions of years. They are wondrous animals that fascinate most young people. This book talks about what lizards do and includes pictures of many lizards doing those things.
Fenton R. Kay, Ph.D., is a retired biologist with a professional background in herpetology, the study of reptiles and amphibians. In addition to Natural History for Young Folks: What Lizards Do, Fenton has three other books for kids: a children's chapter book, a middle-reader historical novel, and a coming-of-age story. One of his goals is to spark children's interest in nature, much as he was inspired to pursue biology.
