Sadiya Akram is an Associate Professor in Sociology at the University of Birmingham. She is a political sociologist with expertise in race and racism and the diverse strategies employed by marginalised groups and, particularly young people, to mobilise. Dr. Akram's research prioritises participatory methodologies and creative, arts-based approaches to foster inclusive participation in research involving marginalised groups. Benjamin Bowman is Senior Lecturer in the School of Sociology and Criminology at Manchester Metropolitan University. He is an interdisciplinary researcher with an interest in young people's everyday lives, young activism and young people's experiences of climate change. In Dr Bowman's work with young environmentalist activists, he specializes in co-research, co-authorship and participatory action research with young people.
