Kazumitsu Ito earned his MD from the University of Tokyo in 1995 and master's degree in Japanese studies from The Open University of Japan in 2022. Ito has published eight Japanese-language books on Japanese literature and three books in the field of medicine. Ito has also published four books in the United States, including The Meaning of Living: Toward a Philosophy of Life. Kazumitsu Ito is currently the director of the Takamigaoka Clinic of Ophthalmology in Japan and a graduate student of Japanese studies at The Open University of Japan.
