Catherine Schmitt is the author of Historic Acadia National Park, The President's Salmon, and A Coastal Companion. Her writing about science, nature, and history has appeared in magazines, newspapers, literary journals, anthologies, and other publications. With a background in ecology and environmental science, she has worked as a wetlands consultant, watershed research assistant, and communications director, and is currently a science writer with Schoodic Institute at Acadia National Park.
