Mit seinem 2008 gegründeten, in Tokyo und Kyoto ansässigen Büro KINO architects gestaltet Masahiro Kinoshita seit 2008 Räume und Landschaften, die den Menschen und die Gemeinschaft in den Mittelpunkt stellen: von Kindergärten und Bibliotheken über Friedhöfe bis zu Büro- und Wohngebäuden. Aus einer klaren Haltung und sozialem Verantwortungsbewusstsein entstehen sorgfältig durchdachte Architekturen im Sinne einer nachhaltigen Gesellschaft. Mehrfach ausgezeichnet wurden etwa die Umwandlung eines traditionellen Bootshauses mit Lagerräumen in die Stadtbibliothek Ine und das Gemeinschaftsgrab auf dem Friedhof Hirao in Fukuoka.

A clear stance and sense of social responsibility give rise to carefully considered architecture in the spirit of a sustainable society. For example, the conversion of a traditional boathouse with storage rooms into the Ine City Library, and the communal grave at Hirao Cemetery in Fukuoka have won multiple awards.
