This book is an attempt to help others "rediscover" what true worship is. It calls for a return to the Bible as the foundation for worship theology. It exposes multiple errors in Charismatic and contemporary worship practices. While not exhaustive, it is intended to be a catalyst to inspire further research.
From the Introduction:
"I will confess that I was one of those that took worship for granted. I honestly cannot recall much ever being said on the subject during my years growing up in church or in my Bible college training. Sometimes there would be a defense of a particular practice or style. Other times there would be very brief statements on why some other group was not worshipping correctly.
"This changed for me after I had an opportunity to teach a class on church music.... I knew that I would need to present a solid philosophy of church music, which would of course include worship. I began to gather resources and dig into the topic. I had to rediscover what true worship is for myself."
