Tom Blair is the author of the New York Times bestseller Poorer Richard's America. He was born in England during World War II. His father, an American serviceman married to a young British woman, was killed at Normandy in 1944, two weeks before Tom was born. As a long-term Washingtonian, he has keen insights into the political process. Blair has founded four successful companies in the health-care industry, including two that were purchased by large insurance companies. For him, business has always been a means to finance his passions, particularly American history, economics, and aviation. He has a large collection of WWII British aircraft, all of which he flies. Blair has three children and thirteen grandchildren. He lives with his wife, Alice, in the Washington metropolitan area.
