It's been six months since Daniel Moore's transformation into a vampire and the loss of his connections with his friends. He's warned by Rachel that he could endanger their lives due to the ongoing threat from vampire clans. Daniel understands the need to let go of his friends for their safety.
Daniel and Rachel are summoned back to the coven by Arun, for a meeting with council members who discuss an attack on the vampire hunters called the Righteous. They discover that the Righteous have reached out for help in retrieving powerful objects, including the Book of Thoth, which can change the past. Tensions rise as Rachel and Arun express scepticism about co-operating with the Righteous, but the situation compels them to consider the alliance.
They travel to Paris and meet up with the Righteous and learn about the significance of the stolen artifacts. As they are shown where the items were housed, Rachel is overcome and can see that Max had been there and that he'd instructed the release of the items, but that it was the book he wanted.
The Righteous explain that through their research, they have learnt that the book has been taken to Egypt but that they have to recover another clue that is housed in the Great Pyramid at Giza. A few nights later the trio assemble with a Righteous team to enter and to retrieve the final clue that will take them to where the book has been taken.
Arun has had a unique connection to a mysterious box that is laying in the pyramid and its inscriptions and together with the other clues they learn that they will have to venture into a long lost underground labyrinth at Hawara.
After arriving at the labyrinth the team encounter traps and they are faced with demonic entities that threaten their lives, forcing them to rely on their combined strengths and skills to survive.
As they reach the temple, they confront a former Righteous member possessed by a dark entity. The team must stop him reading from the Book of Thoth. In a climactic battle, the gods Anubis and Osiris intervene and restore balance.
In the aftermath, the vampires and the hunters reflect on their journey and the bonds they have formed. They return to Paris, where they are recognised for their bravery and given a new mission, hinting at further adventures to come.
