In a rented apartment in Shenzhen's Funing New Village, unemployed Chen Nianxi struggles to survive amid the din of typhoon nights. She scrapes by by staying up late to finish her manuscripts, but is plagued by recurring, eerie dreams: behind a doomsday door lies a tear-stained diary, chronicling the despair of 2050, ten years after the apocalypse. In reality, the typhoon-induced supermarket panic buying, the bloody murder in Room 605, and the sudden growth of blue mycelium on her arm completely shatter her ordinary life. When black scales emerge from her neck and monsters wreak havoc on rainy nights, Chen Nianxi is forced to transform from a "useless" copywriter into a survivor, living in symbiosis with the mycelium and fleeing alongside Qiao Ling and her companions. Amidst the tug-of-war between mutants and humanity, she trudges towards the Northwest Survivor Base, where the diary, the prophetic dream, seems to be gradually illuminating reality.
