The profession of working on a railroad is a high-paying,
yet quiet and, at times, stressful job. In other words, most
people do not hear about the railroad workers like one
does when it's a doctor or a lawyer's position. However, I
had the pleasure of working with drivers, engineers, and
conductors of a railroad company. They were some of the
more interesting people that I've ever met. Armed with
some fun ideas about life, their private opinions, and their
more hilarious stories to tell; the subject of writing a book
came up and things just sort of fell into place.
These stories are told by the crews, in their voice. It was
fun to write as I was able catch their individual tones and
personalities. I truly hope you nd yourself laughing along
the way as much as I did while being there with the menfolk.
