A twig snapped next to me, and I jumped away. I pushed myself to go faster as more and more sounds filled the forest. Heavy footsteps thudded against the soft floor as branches snapped and leaves rustled. Derrek was closing in on me faster than I could have ever imagined. His breath whispered through the air, and I could almost feel the heat of it in my neck. Arousal and excitement coursed through me as I pushed myself to go faster. I was only a few steps from the clearing when a massive arm surrounded me and pulled me against a firm body.
