The Enforcer: Eternal Redemption is about a group of Vampires living in the modern day world. Several, Edwin Aldemeer included, are centuries old. Edwin is a member of the elite warrior class who protects a council of elders that acts as the governing body for these creatures.
These underground citizens must be policed because of the continuous arising of power struggles.
A powerful female from the North, sired Edwin. He is ruthless, cunning, intelligent and has never been defeated in battle.
Althea Adams is a recently turned daughter of Marcus Grigory Ignatius whose bloodlines run back to Roman times. Marcus is an Ancient. His power has no boundaries. His mental acuity far exceeds most of his kind. He is a member of the Council.
Althea has learned of a young vampire who has fallen in love with a human female. Once introduced, chaos ensues, for she is a hopeless romantic at heart.
Humans are mortal enemies of the Realm. The Code does not allow for any fraternization. The penalty is death for all concerned.
Dispatching Edwin is the council's solution to eliminate these disobedient rebels. He is very efficient at his job. However, Edwin has a close relationship with Marcus Ignatius and his daughter. He finds Althea immature, unreasonable, and slightly deranged. But he certainly does not wish to end her young, promising life. Or make an enemy of the powerful Ignatius.
The more time Edwin spends with Althea, the more a reluctant attraction grows. Her outlook on life is refreshing, thought-provoking, which Edwin finds quite fascinating, were he honest with himself.
He champions her cause in the end, all the time planning a one time sexual encounter that he hopes will eliminate the irrational emotions he feels for the female.
Althea has disobeyed her sire one too many times. Or has she?
Marcus and another Ancient devise a plan to bring Edwin and Althea together. But first, the Enforcer must prove his love and loyalty by test.
Althea needs to be loved unconditionally, her insecurities run deep. Winning her trust is not an easy task. Passing the test is the most arduous task that Edwin has ever been assigned.
Edwin is a mature, stable, capable being. Althea is... not.
Althea is sharp-witted, sarcastic and wary, but her heart is as soft and gooey as a marshmallow once the walls come down. Edwin must breech the thorn covered citadels with determination, conviction and the patience of a Saint.
Thea's journey to womanhood is a confusing, delightful journey for the reader. Edwin's transformation from a stern, no-nonsense, cynical warrior is heart warming and amusing.
