Chastity's been a faithful wife, but when her husband Michael leaves on another one of his mysterious business trips, she feels hurt and neglected.

John didn't make a move away. His blue eyes searched her face. "Ma'am?"

"Yes?" she asked, breathless. She could almost taste his lips.

"I've been made aware that you're a married woman."

Married? What was that? What did it matter when she felt fire in her veins? "I am, but..."

"But I wouldn't want you to do anything you'd be ashamed of." John's lips tipped forward and brushed hers, then, in just a hint of a kiss.

All too quickly, the warmth was gone. John stepped back. He nodded his head. "Good night, ma'am," he said, and turned.

"I'm not ashamed."

He stopped.

Chastity wasn't sure what possessed her. She tugged the tie on her robe and let it fall down her shoulders. Her worn, nearly see-through white cotton nightgown revealed her shoulders and the shape of her breasts. As he turned to look at her, she let the robe slip off entirely. It pooled at her feet.

John visibly swallowed. His blue eyes seemed to burn in the low light.

She slipped her nightgown's straps off her shoulders, pausing only to caress her nipples through the soft cloth before she let her nightgown fall. She stepped out of her nightclothes.

He didn't move closer, nor did he move away.

Chastity found her voice. "I'm not ashamed."
