Jake and Chloe, together with Gem and Ethan, are working frantically to build the Awoken army: genetically altered humans with psychic abilities powerful enough to take the fight to the Shade. But they start to discover the threat is so much greater than anyone had ever imagined and the countdown to annihilation of all life on Earth has already begun.

In a race against time to save the world, they must build a network of Waveriders and unlock the Awoken army's powers.
