Biography of Linda L. Jones
By submission of this book, I am accomplishing my dream believe complying with God's Plan for my life. You see I have felt in my spirit that God wants me to get this book out there to help someone see Him in my life experiences, because I know that without His grace, mercy, and everlasting love, I wouldn't have survived many of the circumstances I have lived through. I need and want to bring him glory because he is the God I serve, because He has always been therefore me in the good times and more importantly in those dark hours of sadness and sorrow, in the joy and pain. I've been cradled in His loving arms during my most troubled times.
I live with my husband of more than 25 years. Together, we have combined families to raise or help to raise five children. Due to circumstances, we then raised 4 grandchildren and are currently rearing one great-granddaughter. Both of us are aware that had God not been a very real part of this process, we more than likely would not be together now. He has been our comfort in times of indecision, uncertainty, questionable emotional conditions and we are extremely grateful.
I was born and reared in Bloomsburg, PA. My mother reared me alone for the most part because my father left us when I was young, returning to my life two years prior to his death. There was so much love in the home I shared with my mother, I always felt special. My mother lived the Golden Rule and encouraged me to do the same. Jesus Christ was always discussed and lived in our homes.
Later in my life, I made several poor choices in my selection of mates, however, I've always heard, the third is the charm which has been so true for me. My current husband is the charm. He has been with me through the good times and the bad, raising children, grands and now a great granddaughter, always together! He has been my rock, even when I was unsure about something, we have stood together with the strength of the Lord, Jesus The Christ. We couldn't have done it without Him.
I have been blessed to have several good friends in my life, but my sister/friend relationship with Boop has been the most long-lasting, loving one. I don't know what I would do without her loving caring persona. She is so important to me. God placed us in each other's lives for a reason which we have identified as being each other's support system.
I am blessed to have a wonderful church family at Wesley Union AM.E. Zion Church and have been privy to three excellent, teaching, preaching ministers, Rev. Jimmy Allen Thomas, Rev. Kenneth Venable, and my current Wesley pastor, Rev. Willie L. Dixon. Rev. Franklin Schley pastored two churches I previously attended Turner Memorial Missionary Baptist and Rose of Sharon Baptist Church previously attended. These mighty men of Christ have been very influential in continuing and developing my Christian Walk.
As I have previously stated, I have been married to George Granville Jones, Sr. for twenty-five years with a combined family of five children, Michelle, George, Jr., George Randolph, Capacine and Shanan. From these five children we are blessed with fifteen grandchildren and eleven greatgrands.
Completion of this book brings me to tears as it has been a long and arduous journey for me because I know that I know that I know that He is the guiding influence that has aided me in completion of this task.
