A mugging changed Paige's life. She's saved by a handsome stranger who leaves without giving her his name. A stranger she soon discovers is a witch. He takes her on as an apprentice, and for years, life is good. She learns about magic and her own powers. And becomes entirely too interested in her mentor. One day he comes to her with a request-help him find the pieces of a magical amulet. Unable to refuse him, she agrees, but the undertaking quickly becomes a great deal more dangerous than either of them could have predicted. With the aid of a wolf shifter, they travel to several locations around the globe, seeking the shards of the relic. Deep in some of the most remote and inhospitable locales, they run into multiple obstacles which threaten to end their quest-or their lives. But they're determined, and not even the will of the gods can stop Paige from helping her mentor achieve his goal. The only question is, will she live to see the relic reassembled, or will she lose everything in the wild parts of the world?
