A Mechanic's Handbook To The God Of The Bible: Why God Just Makes Sense
Is this a book worth reading?
Everyone at some point asks these questions. Why am I here? What is my purpose? Why is there so much pain and suffering?
If you don't have concrete answers to those questions, it can be hard to find meaning and purpose in life, let alone peace.
If you're searching for answers to the question "Why" I think this book gives some persuasive answers to consider.
It's hard to find a sense of purpose in todays world, especially when it seems God is constantly being removed from our society, leaving a spiritual void-a void that is causing more than a few to feel lost and wondering if life is worth it.
At one time in my life, I felt I had no purpose, which was brought to light after I was in a car accident:
Chapter 1 Hope / Page 9.
How could a young guy in good health who lived in a free country with a good job and family be disappointed that he survived a car accident? Because without hope, life loses its significance. The only hope I had was in what I could see, and what I was seeing at twenty years old obviously wasn't enough for me to put much value on my life. I saw life only as a means to an end, and that end was being buried six feet underground. I didn't know it at that time, but life is a precious gift from God. I also wasn't aware that when you are lowered into the ground, eternity begins in either Heaven or Hell. When I came to understand that my significance in life came from God, everything changed.
In my book, I write about the powerful message of God's grace, salvation and His love for us, and how I came to receive His grace personally. I would be doing a great disservice to everyone who reads this book, if I didn't also write about who the 'God of the Bible' is from the standpoint of His righteousness and judgements.
This book is an honsest account of God's character, unbiased and plainly laid out through the use of scriptures, and personal stories. The book also dives into what it's like to be a Christian, following God in a broken world, and how God brought me throught many trials, mostly made by own stubbornness--never giving up or forsaking me for my waywardness. It's truly a book of God's awesome Grace towards us all.
