Scientific Study from the year 2021 in the subject Theology - Islamic theology, Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University, language: English, abstract: There is a debate about how or to what extent al-Shafi'i influenced scholars in the third century A.H. In my opinion, while al-Shafi'i's influence on muhaddiths is very limited, he has affected many scholars in the field of fiqh in general and usul al-fiqh in particular. This study, which will be carried out in the form of a literature review, will examine the influence of al-Shafi'i on fuqaha' and muhaddiths, whether he is mentioned in their works or ignored by them. Also, it will be discussed in which manner the fuqaha' were influenced by him and whether different discussions started due to his works. Therefore, his effects on scholars in the third century will be revealed by this study.
