A-Hoy Frankie! Your Riverboat Captain is an early reader designed for pre-school, Kindergarten and first grade. A-Hoy Frankie is set in the Florida Everglades (science-related) and is a fictional book that includes an educational non-fiction component comprised of "Frankie Fun Facts." The fun facts teach children about alligators and other species that inhabit the Everglades. The book is recommended to appeal to ages 3 to 6 and for that reason, A-Hoy Frankie is a shorter book that can be easily read to or by shorter attention spans. The book is told through dialogue that is both humorous and educational. About the Author Candace Meredith earned her Bachelor of Science degree in English Creative Writing from Frostburg State University in the spring of 2008. Her works of poetry, photography and fiction have appeared in literary journals Bittersweet, The Backbone Mountain Review, The Broadkill Review, In God's Hands/ Writers of Grace, A Flash of Dark, Greensilk Journal, Saltfront, Mojave River Press and Review, Scryptic Magazine, Unlikely Stories Mark V, The Sirens Call and various others. Candace currently resides in Virginia with her son and her daughter, her fiancé and their three dogs and six cats. She has earned her Master of Science degree in Integrated Marketing and Communications (IMC) from West Virginia University.
