Vera Simpson Gaines was reared in Houston, MS
on a diary farm and now resides in Senatobia, MS
with her husband Gary Gaines of 38 years. She
graduated from Houston High School in 1967 and
attended Miss. State Un. where she graduated in Jan.
1972. Mrs. Gaines taught elementary school for 7 years
and worked in educational research for 8 years before
being forced off the road due to health problems. Gaines
started writing in 2002. Her first book Call Me Jobulene
is about her trials and tribulations and how the Lord lead
her through them. Her second book Are You A Job In
Modern Times? was written to help victims of Katrina to
rebuild their spiritual lives. Her third book All Is Well With
My Soul Daily Devotions was written to help people with
adversities to face each day with the help of God. Mrs.
Gaines is actively involved in the Emmaus Movement and
charities for Africa.
Mrs. Gaines has two daughters, Dr. Heather Gaines
Hardison from Collierville, TN and Tiffany Gaines
Lambert from Olive Branch, MS.
