A multiple Hugo award winner Langford is a British author, editor and critic, heavily active within the science fiction field. He publishes the science fiction fanzine and newsletter Ansible and appears regularly on panels at SciFi conventions worldwide. Pat Mills is a comics editor and writer who has played a vital role in British comics since the 1970s. He is perhaps best known for his dystopian comics, such as Marshal Law and Requiem Vampire Knight, for founding 2000 AD and for playing a crucial role in the creation of Judge Dredd. Dave Golder is a former editor of SFX magazine (which he helped to launch), SFX.co.uk and Comic Heroes magazine, but he first began writing professionally about science fiction with a regular feature in Your Sinclair called The Killer Kolumn From Outer Space. He has also written for various gaming magazines despite only ever having finished two games completely. And one of those was Kung Fu Panda. He now works freelance and is pretending to write a novel. Jess Nevins is a librarian at Lone Star College in Tomball, Texas, and is the author of a number of books on nineteenth and twentieth century popular literature, including The Encyclopedia of Fantastic Victoriana (2005), The Evolution of the Costumed Avenger: The 4000-Year History of the Superhero (2017), and The Encyclopedia of Pulp Heroes (2017). He lives in Tomball with his wife Alicia and son Henry. As a boy, Russ Thorne loved reading Fighting Fantasy gamebooks, playing Hero Quest and poring over issues of 'White Dwarf', admiring the cover art in the process. Later he studied English Literature and got to know Homer's heroes and a bit of Beowulf, before beginning a career as a writer and editor. Since then he's published books on tattoo art, body piercing and vampires and writes regularly for national newspapers including the Independent. Sarah Dobbs is a freelance writer and digital producer who's contributed to Total Film, SFX, SciFiNow, Wired, and Horrorville. She was a founding editor on pop culture website Den of Geek, and now co-hosts monthly horror movie podcast Casting The Runes. She owes her love of science fiction to her mum, who got her started on Star Trek: The Next Generation and The X Files at an early age. |
